glitchsys.com was purchased a personal domain back in 1999 when I first worked tech support for Verio Webhosting. They required new employees to purchase a domain and sign up for their web hosting so that we could get a feel for the product/service, play around with it, learn it, etc. so that we could better support web hosting customers.
